There are very few professions that are as personal as the relationship between a stylist and a client. It is one of only a small handful of professions that one can have a personal touch with. The relationship can last years and years, or only a few visits. Those of you who have had the same hair stylist for 10 plus years, are lucky to have such a great friend in your stylist. They have seen you through your worst and best times, your laughter and your tears, the birth and growth of your children to the death of your family members.

The other day, we had a wonderful funny couple come into the salon and she complained, that she purchased for years, wigs both on line and in Haverhill Mass. She complained that even her $50.00 wigs don't last 2 to 3 weeks and she is tired of spending thousands a year on wigs that don't last.

As with anything, you should always consult your oncologist or team before doing anything different. When i was a horse trainer on a breeding farm in Millbrook, NY, our breeding manager always insisted to my staff, that all broodmares should be kept in top shape for an easier birth. So i would have my staff lightly exercise the mares right up until date of birth.

Many of you have heard that there is a shortage of human hair which drives up the cost of human hair wigs. Its a simple matter of the business equation of supply and demand. In years past, wig makers have gotten hair from many sources, including nun’s and monks, who grew out their hair , cut it and donated it for a small fee to help bring income into the monastery or church.Hair for profit so to speak . In fact, many of the monks in Europe still do it which is how they fund things...

When it comes to telling someone you have cancer, we at AJ’s Wigs have learned the best thing not to do is to beat around the bush. Tell them Straight out. People are going to react in different ways, so sometimes you might have to “dance around” the subject. But in general, be forthright and straightforward....
